Artist's Comments

Again I did another crossover. This time I combined the two shows "Avatar: The Last Airbender" of Nickelodeon and "Samurai Jack" of Cartoon Network. And as usual I made a story for it.

In ancient times there existed 4 continents that each represented a particular element that governed the world. Each nation lived in harmony and the world was at peace. However, a prophet saw a vision that the lord of the Fire Continent would trigger a war that could change the very balance of the world, and that a person that is called the avatar would set things right.

True enough the lord of the Fire Continent changed and set out to rule the other major continents. At that very moment, a sword located in the temple of a small Wind Continent province started reacting, causing great alarm to the residents of the Wind Continent as well as of the lord of the continent himself. Desperate for answers, he turned to the very prophet who predicted the Fire Lord's change. She said that a great demon by the name of Aku took over the consciousness of the Fire Lord and only through using the holy sword which incorporated all four elemental fighting disciplines and aura can he be beaten. She also told the Wind Lord that his son will be the avatar. Thus the Wind Lord began training his son in the ways of the Wind Bending discipline. After training as well as other fighting styles such as archery and survival skills for 12 years, the son thought that the time had come to kill Aku. However at the time he had only mastered Wind Bending and lacked the knowledge in the other disciplines. Thus, he lost and was supposedly killed by the Fire Lord.

Or so they thought. The avatar was cast into the ice-cold waters of the Water continent and was frozen into deep sleep for 100 years. Until citizens from the Water Continent found him and woke him up. They told him of the world under the demon's reign, a world where the Fire Continent ruled with an iron fist. They also told him of the decimation of the Wind Continent. It was at that point that he decided to make up for what has happened in the past and train in the other disciplines. Without a name to call himself, he decided to call himself Jack.

Disclaimer: I "Own" this character. However I DO NOT own any of the shows / characters from which I based my art on. "Avatar:The Last Airbender" and "Samurai Jack" are all properties of their respective creators.

yeah Aku's voice also played Iroh's voice so they had to change it in the first few episodes of Avatar season 3

wow, this is a very interesting crossover. i liked samurai jack also, but the only thing i didn't like was that none of the episodes had any continuity. only the first three episodes followed right after another but then no episode had anything to do with the previous. but it was a good series nontheless. Very good pic
